Councillors have approved plans for the redesign of the Margaret Skinnader roundabout in Monaghan town. The busy junction, also known as the Magic roundabout, will see works to improve safety.
Under the plans the current roundabout will be replaced, with improved pedestrian crossing facilities also put in place. Footpaths at the junction will be widened which will reduce the width of the roadways to slow traffic on approach.
Councillors this week approved the plans and work is expected to begin this year. Two submissions were made to the Council as part of the public consultation period.
