This week's meeting of Ballyjamesduff Municipal District heard that works have been carried out at a number of locations to alleviate flooding.
Cavan County Council's executive told those gathered for the last meeting of 2022 that areas at Crosskeys and Lacken had works carried out to deal with the problem.
The meeting heard that a pipeline was laid between the two football pitches while a road was raised in Lacken and a nearby bridge lowered to prevent flooding in the future.
Those gathered also heard that a commercial line was installed behind the pub in Crosskeys and since its installation "there has been no flooding recorded".
Cllr TP O'Reilly then highlighted how nearly €100,000 was spent on the upgrading of a local road only for a pipe to collapse a short time later.
He added that while the local authority responded quickly to the matter, it was a "disappointing development" in the greater scheme of things.]
