Uisce Éireann has announced that works to replace 258 meters of aged and damaged water mains along Cathedral Road in Cavan Town is set to commence next week.
This project has been prioritised and will be delivered as part of Uisce Éireann's national Leakage Reduction Programme which is delivering a more secure and reliable water supply to communities right across Ireland.
In a statement to Northern Sound News, Uisce Éireann says securing the water supply in Cavan Town remains a top priority as the intensive campaign continues to drive down leakage and improve the water supply to homes and businesses.
Uisce Éireann's Declan Cawley says replacing these pipes will greatly reduce the levels of leakage and bursts resulting in service interruptions affecting customers and local businesses.
Mr Cawley added that he is looking forward to getting crews on site next week.
