Outbreaks in workplaces have been blamed for an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases recorded in recent days.
85 new cases of the virus were confirmed yesterday, which was the highest in over two months.
Locally Cavan has 868 cases, with Monaghan recording 541 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Concern had been raised about clusters of cases being recorded in some factories and other facilities.
Infectious diseases expert Professor Sam McConkey says many people feel they have no choice but to continue to work while sick because they have no job security.
He also said access to GP services is also an issue, with people moving to another part of the country unable to register with a Doctor.
