Construction of the new car park in Virginia is to begin next week.
The car park will be built on a four hectare site between Main Street and Lough Ramor.
Approval was given for the project last summer and construction is expected to begin on Monday.
The 77 space car park will be built on the 'Backlands', behind buildings on the southern side of Main Street.
Charging points for electric vehicles and bicycle parking is also included in the plans.
Cavan County Council has confirmed work will begin next week.
It says the project is classed as a critical infrastructure project as it is being done in conjunction with the ongoing pavement and safety works.
It also says the work will be carried out in accordance with Covid-19 safety protocols.
