Work is getting underway on the next phase of the Cavan town Greenway which is set to reach Butlersbridge.
€300,000 will be handed over by the local authority for civil engineering consultancy services as part of the plans for the project.
The tender has been issued and it is hoped the greenway will eventually link Cavan town with Ballyconnell via Butlersbridge and Cloverhill.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr John Paul Feeley explained how this latest move is part of an overall network of green way developments.
He said that while there may be challenges, it is important for the Local Authority to have an opportunity to hear from property owners as to how they see a greenway being developed:
