Infrastructural improvement at Monaghan County Council's waste storage compound at Scotch Corner has been recently completed. According to the local authority, the compound is used to store diesel laundering waste pending removal off site for subsequent treatment.
The works involved the provision of a covered steel-frame type structure over the compound. The erection of the structure will protect the compound from the elements and will result in less contaminated liquid waste being generated on site.
This will in turn will result in a reduction in the overall treatment costs.
