The LCDC Equality Subgroup are currently organising a series of Women's Safety Audits. The audits will highlight specific safety concerns faced by women in the centres of large towns across Co Monaghan. The key objective is to provide safer spaces for women of all ages to walk in local towns. An audit already took place in Clones last Wednesday with more scheduled for across the region over the coming weeks.
An audit will take place in Ballybay this Wednesday the 16th of October, followed by safety audits in Castleblayney on Monday the 21st, Carrickmacross on Wednesday the 23rd and finally in Monaghan Town on Wednesday the 30th of October. Each event will begin at 7pm. Items such as high viz vests, LED lighted hats etc. will be provided to participant's.
