Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a hit-and-run road traffic collision involving a car and pedestrians that occurred at Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, this evening, Thursday 26th December 2024.
At approximately 5.45pm, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a road traffic incident involving a car and four pedestrians at Blanchardstown Road North, Dublin 15. The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene and has yet to come forward.
Investigations are ongoing. A female (aged in her 30's) was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A male (aged in his 30's) was conveyed to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported at the time. The road has been closed for technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users or pedestrians who were in the vicinity of Blanchardstown Road North, between 5pm and 6pm today, Thursday 26th December 2024, and have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
