A woman in her 80's has died being hit by a lorry in Donegal yesterday. The incident in the village of St Johnston at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Gardaí and emergency services rushed to Church Street in the village of St Johnston yesterday afternoon after an elderly woman was struck by a lorry on Church Street at around 2pm. The woman in her 80s was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to University Hospital Letterkenny for a post mortem examination to be carried out.
The driver of the truck was not injured in the collision. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage is asked to come forward. This brings the total number of deaths on the road this year to 127.
