Winning the Diageo Baileys dairy cow competition is what dreams are made of.
That's according to Padraic Greenan who says it's a day that you one day imagine to happen but the local farmer does not need to imagine anymore. Padraic and Brendan Grennan from Ardaghy took home the coveted title yesterday at the Virginia Show.
Greenlea MG Rhapsody EX 96 of the Greenlea Holsteins herd was crowned the 39th Diageo Baileys Champion Cow. The owners of the winning cow, were awarded a prize of €3,000 and also take home the Virginia Milk Products cup from the 81st Virginia Show yesterday.
Farmers from all over the country compete in the annual event to take home the prestigious title. Padraic Greenan says this dairy competition is the equivalent to an all-Ireland. He said it's a day that you always dream of.
