Free Wi-Fi hotspots are being installed in Bailieborough, as part of an initiative to bring free hotspots to public spaces throughout the county.
It follows a successful application by Cavan County Council's broadband officer Daniel Peters to the European initiative WiFi4EU.
Netmore Group won a three-year contract with the Council to install the public Wi-Fi networks, and yesterday work began on the installation at the library on Market Square, Bailieborough Court House, and the Wesleyan Chapel.
The programme was delayed due to Covid, but the Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, Sarah O'Reilly, says she's delighted to see progress on the scheme and looks forward to the project going live:
