It was momentous day yesterday at the Westenra Hotel in Monaghan Town. The popular hotel officially changed hands from the McEnaney family to the Watters family. Laura Finlay cut the ribbon to welcome Padraig and the Watters family as the owners and say a farewell to Frank and the McEnaney family who have been at the helm of the hotel's success for over 20 years.
Previously speaking to Northern Sound, new owner Padraig Watters said he was "delighted" to be given the opportunity to acquire the hotel, adding that he knows all too well how important the Westenra Arms is to Monaghan Town. The Co Monaghan businessman also complimented the team of staff at the hotel who he hopes to learn from and offer support to in order to carry the business on into the future.
