Well-known local figures have launched the first Cavan Day.
The celebration will be held on September 26th and broadcast live through Cavan TV on Facebook and Youtube at 5pm Irish time, and 12pm, US time.

The event hopes to pay tribute to the people, diaspora and everyone who shares an affinity with the county by featuring Cavan music, interviews, and messages from the Global Community.

Cavan senior footballer Oisin Kiernan and award-winning celebrity chef Neven Maguire were joined by CE of Cavan County Council Tommy Ryan and Cathaoirleach, Sarah O'Reilly, for the official launch over the weekend.
People are being urged to get involved by wearing the county colours and to show their connection to Cavan by using #CavanDay on social media.
