The Community Engagement Units in both Cavan and Monaghan, in conjunction with both the IFA and the County Councils, have launched a week long property marking event at the livestock marts throughout the Cavan and Monaghan Division.
As a result of the week-long initiative, local community engagement units attended Kingscourt Mart.
Elsewhere, property marking events will also take place tomorrow at Cavan Mart from 10am until 2pm and also Dowra Mart from 10am until 2pm.
According to the community engagement units in both Cavan and Monaghan, property marking is a "great way" of identifying your property if stolen and recovered, and also acts as a "deterrent" to criminals.
Marking property with an Eircode will also ensure that if your property is stolen and located, local Gardaí will be able to have your property returned to you.
