Local weather stations have recorded their mildest autumns on record.
All mean air temperatures across the country were above their Long-Term
Average for the season, and the highest Autumn temperature of 27.9 °C was
reported at both Shannon Airport and the Valentia Observatory, in Co Kerry.
In Co Cavan, the Ballyhaise Weather Station recorded its highest autumn temperature since its installation in 2003.
The temperature here was 1.2 degrees above its long-term average.
In the Shannonside region, the Mount Dillon Weather Station north of
Lanesborough recorded a mean air temperature that was 1.5 degrees above its
long-term average, the highest since its installation.
