"We are Monaghan and Monaghan won't give up." That's according to former GAA player and three time All-Star winner Nudie Hughes.
Excitement is mounting across Co Monaghan this week ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland minor final between Monaghan and Derry. This will be the first time that the Farney minor side has reached an All-Ireland final since 1939.
Speaking on this morning's Joe Finnegan Show, the local GAA stalwart described this weekend as a "massive achievement" for the minor side, adding that 84 years is a very long time.
He described this weekend as a "once in a lifetime chance" for the local side and has called on as many people as possible to show up to the BOX IT athletic grounds in Armagh this Sunday in order to cheer on and support their native side in what could be an historic win for the county.
"It's there, we're capable and Monaghan will have no fears," he explained. "We can do it, we have to do it and the way I look at it, we are Monaghan and Monaghan won't give up as we've seen at our minor and senior levels."
