Power has been restored at four of the eight County Cavan water plants that lost power during Friday's storm.

Uisce Éireann is making progress restoring water supply to Cavan customers after all eight of the county's water treatment plants lost power during Storm Éowyn.

Power has been restored at four of those plants. Uisce Éireann is running two of the plants on generators with another generator on route to the remaining water treatment plant. The water company says "Every effort is being made to ensure all plants are back up in production from this morning."

While in Monaghan Uisce Éireann is making progress restoring a water supply to Monaghan customers after seven of the county’s water treatment plants lost power during Storm Éowyn.  Power has been restored to the Smithborough Water Supply Scheme and a generator has been deployed to the Newbliss one. To support customers in the interim, a bulk tanker of water is now in place at the Mace filling station in Smithborough
