There will be water restrictions in Dowra village and surrounding areas tonight.
In a statement, Uisce Éireann said the restrictions are in place to "allow reservoir levels to recover overnight".
Northern Sound has learned there is a process fault at the water treatment plant caused by heavy rain and this has impacted the production at the plant.
Uisce Éireann says this restriction will run from 11pm tonight until 7am tomorrow morning, however, the situation will be reviewed each morning and updates provided to the community as necessary.
The overnight restriction will also enable a consistent supply of drinking water during the day tomorrow, the agency said.
The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact the agency on Twitter @IWCare with any queries.
For updates, customers are advised to visit the Water Supply Updates section of the Uisce Éireann website.
