Irish Water has confirmed this afternoon there has been a compliance rate of 99.28% in Co Cavan and a 99.25% compliance rate in Co Monaghan regarding water quality.
This comes on the back of an Environmental Protection Agency report on drinking water quality across the country which was published this morning. The EPA says the lives of almost 900,000 people were put at risk last year because of two serious failures at Irish Water plants.
The utility is been criticised over the incidents in Kildare and Wexford in 2021. Meanwhile, Irish Water told Northern Sound there was 100% compliance for microbiological parameters in counties Cavan and Monaghan in 2021.
