Major water pipe replacement works in Cavan town have been completed.
Irish Water has been carrying out the works for most of this year in the town centre.
It says 1.3km of old and damaged pipes in the town have now been removed and replaced, with the decommissioning of some other pipes also taking place.
The cast iron and lead popes have been replaced by high density plastic ones which Irish Water says should lead to a better water supply and less disruption for the town.
Over €500 million will be spent as part of the National Leakage Reduction Programme.
