Ireland's top public health doctor has warned against complacency setting in among the public about Covid-19.
Dr. Ronan Glynn's urging people to remain vigilant as the pandemic accelerates globally. Ten more people have tested positive for the virus, but there were no further deaths.
The number of cases in the Northern Sound region stands at 1,407. Cavan has recorded 867 Covid-19 cases while Monaghan has seen 540.

Meanwhile, a respiratory drugs company says it's developed a treatment that cuts the chance of developing severe Covid-19 by 79 percent.
Synairgen says its remedy greatly reduces the need for patients to be ventilated.
The medicine also apparently makes a full recovery from the virus twice as likely.
