A voluntary group are raising funds to create a prayer garden at the entrance of St. Mary's Church in Castleblayney.
Approval has been granted by former Parish Priest Canon Shane McCaughey, and the new Parish Priest, Fr Adrian Walshe, to create the Grotto dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima.
As Covid-19 has stopped plans to raise much needed funds by means of fundraising events, local Gardai have given permission for donations to be collected and people can donate through an online go fund me.
The money will be used to purchase the relevant materials such as sand, gravel, paving and plants with all works will be provided by Blayney Slúagh members on a voluntary basis.
The garden, which will be made accessible for all, has already received a donation of benches from the local Men's Shed.
