A vehicle was detained in Co Monaghan yesterday at a multi-agency checkpoint.
Monaghan Roads Policing Unit, accompanied by officers from Revenue and Social Welfare, carried out checkpoints across the county.
A number of offences were detected, with one motorist driving without a driving licence or insurance.
This vehicle was detained under Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act.
Meanwhile, another driver was detected using incorrect diesel in his vehicle, and now faces a fine.
Elsewhere, Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage to a National School in Monaghan Town.
A section of fencing at the front of St Louis Girls National School was badly damaged at around 10pm on Sunday, July 17th and Monaghan Gardaí are appealing for information.
