A plastic dog waste bin has been ripped from its post and broken into bits rendering it useless.

Vandals have struck again along a walkway at Emy Lough. A plastic dog waste bin has been ripped from its post and broken into bits rendering it useless.

It was blown off by the vandals who apparently put a lit firework into the public bin. Waste from the bin was subsequently strewn across the path popular with joggers and dog walkers.

Deborah McGeough from the Donagh Development Association says this is the not the first time vandals have used fireworks to damage property. She also said the group had just installed the bin which was provided by Monaghan County Council and they are now considering installing CCTV in the area to deter or catch vandals in the future.
