Vaccination rates in Monaghan may be higher than what recent figures suggest.
Yesterday it was reported that Monaghan had the lowest vaccine uptake in the Republic of Ireland, at 81.9 per cent.
This compares to a national average of 91.9 per cent.
The Department of Public Health North East says it's still positive that 8 in 10 people in the county have got a jab.
Dr Keith Ian Quintyne told Shannonside Northern Sound that it's likely a number of people in border counties were vaccinated by the NHS, and they are working to get those figures.
