Upgrade works at Con Smith Park in Cavan Town have now been completed.
A tarmac pathway has been installed in a area of the park allowing the park to be accessible to all. Previous to this some parts of the park were inaccessible for wheelchair users and people pushing buggies.
Future plans for further enhancement of the park are planned with a draft plan coming before council representatives at a later date. Funding of 500,000 euros has been earmarked for the future development of the towns amenity.
Local Councillor Patricia Walsh has welcomed this announcement allowing the park to be more inclusive and she added that the people of Cavan Town were very lucky to have such a lovely park on their doorstep within the town centre.
