We're being encouraged to donate any unwanted Christmas presents to local charity shops.
It's part of efforts to improve sustainability by keeping goods in circulation, while also raising money for a good cause.
One of them local good causes is the Wild Wardrobe who have two stores in Cavan Town. The wild wardrobe was created by Caroline Van Den Berg and Joanna Birsanu as a Covid project and has only gone from strength to strength since its inception.
All profits from the two stores goes towards the protection of native Irish wildlife across the region. All proceeds of the stores go towards Kildare Wildlife Rescue, Wildlife Rehabilitation Ireland and Dooletter Wildlife Rescue.
A recent survey has found the most unwanted gifts include underwear, home furnishings and slippers. Caroline Van Den Berg from the Cavan charity store says the wild wardrobe is open and ready to take in unwanted gifts from across the region.
