A unique historical building on the edge of Ballinagh has been put on the market.
Ballinagh Old Corn Mill which is a Listed Building sits on an 0.37 acre site. The roof of this protected property has been tastefully restored to the original thatched roof and there are still a lot of the features of the mill still in tact.
Liam Reilly Auctioneers says the building is in need of total renovation but is a must see. The property is listed as a Detached three-bay three-storey corn mill, built in the 1860s, comes with a €90,000 price tag.
This former corn mill is a reminder of industrial legacy of Ballinagh and the surrounding area, and of the local agricultural economy it served in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
The surviving mill wheel is of particular interest and provides insight into the technical aspects of milling using water power.
