The UN Security Council has held an emergency meeting to discuss the situation in Gaza, after three days of violence between Israel and Palestinian Islamic Jihad militants.
A ceasefire, brokered by Egypt between the sides, appears to be still holding this morning.
At least 44 Palestinians, including 15 children, were killed after Israel began bombardments on Gaza on Friday.
Islamic Jihad militants fired thousands of rockets into Israel, but most were intercepted or blown up.
Ruth Eglash, a journalist based in Jerusalem, says there are fears the truce will only be temporary:
