Northern Sound can report that customers supplied by Ballyhaise, Ballyjamesduff and Ballinagh Public Water Supplies will see their supply return in the coming hours. An Uisce Éireann statement says "if not already as the water network refills." Elsewhere in Cavan there is only one boil water notice for approximately 2,159 customers supplied by the Belturbet Public Water Supply Scheme.
Uisce Éireann says it has "made significant progress in recent days restoring water supply to customers in Cavan. Following the impact of Storm Éowyn, eight of the county's water treatment plants were impacted by power outages across the county. In Monaghan, there is one boil water notice in Monaghan, to protect the health of approximately 11,235 customers supplied by Lough Egish Regional Water Supply. Seven of the County Monaghan's water treatment plants which lost power during Storm Éowyn are now back up and running. Power has been restored to Kilkitt Water Treatment Plant on the Lough Egish Regional Water Supply, however, the loss of electricity may have impacted the treatment processes at the plant.
In a message to customers Uisce Éireann said; "Please be assured our drinking water compliance experts are working in consultation with the HSE to lift both water quality notices as quickly and as safely as possible."
