The launch of the Tydavnet Agricultural Show takes place tomorrow night, Wednesday, in the local community centre at 8pm. The committee is celebrating the 70th show this year which is being held on the 19th of August next.
It promises to be one of the biggest and most packed shows that Co Monaghan has ever experienced. Paula Loughran says Tydavnet Show attracts enthusiasts from all over Ireland on the third Saturday in August every year and 2023 will be no different.
She highlighted how new classes will be introduced for the 70th event, which, she added, will appeal to people of all ages, abilities and interests. "We have extended our home baking to include four new classes for gluten free. That will be interesting to see what comes in that line. We have also extended our photography classes to include the camera club.
"And, we are also hosting two Irish Shows Association All-Ireland Finals - the All-Ireland Preserves and the All-Ireland Junior Craft competition," added Paula.
