Two buses were taken off the road by gardai in Cavan for serious defects to both vehicles on Thursday.
Cavan Roads Policing Unit carried out a number of checkpoints with the Road Safety Authority in both Cavan Town and Virginia.
The main focus were commercials and buses.

Gardai reported that most of the vehicles they stopped were compliant and were allowed to proceed.
The two buses that were taken off the road for serious defects will now undergo further investigation.
