In both cases the water is now safe for use and can be used for drinking and food preparation.

Following consultation with the HSE, Cavan County Council has lifted the warning notice issued to all water users served by CMM (Castlerahan, Mountnugent, and Munterconnacht) Group Water Scheme with immediate effect.

Meanwhile following consultation with the Health Service Executive, Cavan County Council has also lifted the warning notice issued to all water users served by Annagh Group Water Scheme with immediate effect. In both cases the water is now safe for use and can be used for drinking and food preparation. Please note that if your internal/domestic water system has been in general use throughout the period of the notice you may now use your water supply as normal.

If water systems have not been in use for the duration of the notice, consumers should ensure that they flush out their systems by running their hot and cold taps for a period of at least thirty minutes before resuming normal use of the water supply.
