Two remain in custody this afternoon in Carrickmacross in relation to 1.1 million drug seizure.

Gardaí are continuing to question two people over a 1.1 million euro drug seizure in the Monaghan and Louth yesterday.

Searches yesterday afternoon uncovered the cannabis herb, along with a gun, ammunition and 100,000 euro in cash.

A 29-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking.

They are both currently being held at Carrickmacross Garda Station this afternoon.
