Two local sites are among the 50 broadband connection points that are now providing high speed internet to some of the most isolated and rural communities in the country.
The points have been set up in community halls, libraries, GAA facilities, and other public spaces where locals can avail of 150Mb high speed internet.
Locally two centres have been connected in Monaghan, at Connons Community Hall and The Wetlands Centre in Ballybay.
200 of these facilities will be connected by the end of this year, with a further 100 to get up and running in 2021.
Work on the main rollout of the National Broadband Plan began in Cavan in August.
