Two Monaghan organisations have been named as national finalists in the National Lottery Good Causes Awards.
Cú Chulainn Blood Bikes and the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig are among the 35 community groups, sports clubs and organisations who were announced as national finalists.
Cú Chulainn Blood Bikes, who transport blood samples, breast milk for premature babies, medical supplies and bloods for terminally ill children throughout local hospitals, will contest the Community Category.
Meanwhile, the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, a residential workspace for artists across a wide variety of disciplines and from all cultures and economic backgrounds, is nominated in the Arts and Culture category.
Each of the 35 finalists will receive €1,000 and a hand-crafted trophy, and proceed to the grand final, which takes place on the first of October.
