Two Monaghan garden designers have won big at this year's Bord Bia Bloom.
Declan McKenna from Emyvale and Benny Magennis from Clontibret were among 22 garden designers to have their gardens showcased in this year's show gardens at the event. Declan McKenna has won a Silver-Gilt Medal and Benny Magennis has won a Silver Medal for his design.
Benny's garden design, The Despicable Me 4 Garden is a playful space showcasing the energetic, fun-filled naughtiness that characterises the much-loved film series. The garden aims to create anticipation for the upcoming movie, leaving us hungry for more Minions.
While Declan's garden has been created to show how supporters of Children’s Health Foundation bring joy to sick children in Children’s Health Ireland through music and play. It represents the healing power of nature which will provide solace and fresh air for patients, parents, and healthcare staff in the 14 gardens in the new Children’s Hospital. Declan says its wonderful to be recognised on a national level and he was looking forward to meeting so many people over the weekend.
