Two Monaghan entrepreneurs have been nominated for a very prestigious EU business award. Sam Moffett of Moffett Automated Storage and Ciaran Marron of Active8 Energies are among 24 finalists competing for the coveted EY Entrepreneur Of The Year title.
The 24 shortlisted business people span a range of sectors including technology, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, retail, consumer products, and engineering. The finalists will compete across three categories - Emerging, Established and International - with a special Sustainability Award for the company that is making the biggest contribution to environmental sustainability.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Mr Moffett said he was honoured to be one of the 24 chosen ones vying for the prestigious title. He added the event would afford him an opportunity to meet with, and bounce ideas of, some of the brightest minds in the industry.
"There is such a diverse range of companies within Ireland. And, I think this is a statement to show what we are doing in Ireland - from solar panels and healthcare to food facilities for children, engineering and technology.
And, it really is an honour to among those people. But it also shows the strength of Ireland internationally and what we are doing; it highlights how - in the art of what it is - Ireland is a force to be reckoned with worldwide," Mr Moffett said.
