Gardaí are investigating an assault that occurred on Main Street in Cavan Town on Saturday night at approximately 11pm.
A man in his 30s was taken to hospital following the assault. Local Gardai say so far no arrests have been made following this late night assault .
Meanwhile, Gardaí responded to reports of an injured man on Main Street in Cavan town also. He was discovered in the early hours of Sunday morning. The man was taken to Cavan General Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Gardai say inquiries are ongoing into both incidents.
