The pair are undertaking the challenge to raise funds for St Christopher’s Hospice serving Cavan and Monaghan.

12 months ago three members of the Condor team succeeded in raising over €7.000 for St. Christopher’s Hospice.

The three locals did so by inhabiting an island in a makeshift shelter without heat or any communications for 42 hours in the Lough Oughter area of Co. Cavan.

This year two volunteers will take on the island challenge with a difference with each member inhabiting an island alone for 48 hours over two weekends in November. College Tutor and Cavan man John Magee returned on Sunday to the mainland having spent the weekend on Inch Island taking on a challenge that seen him on the island alone for 48 hours.

This weekend will be the turn of his good friend Sean O'Flaherty who is a Monaghan resident. The pair are undertaking the challenge to raise funds for St Christopher’s Hospice serving Cavan and Monaghan.

No mobile phones or any communication devices, no timekeeping devices, no heat source and only basic rations of food are what both men have to endure on both weekends. All funds raised will go towards St Christopher's Hospice in Cavan. John says they wanted to build on last years successful fundraiser.
