You can have your say and support these local pets to win the national title.

Two local pets are in the running to become this year's Nose of Tralee.

The competition is run annually by Pet sitters Ireland, and there is a pet picked to represent each county, with the winner chosen by public vote, which closes at midnight tonight.

In Cavan a cat by the name of Maverick is vying for the title of nose of Tralee while in Monaghan a dog by the name of Ivy is on the hunt to take home the national title.

Ivy's owner Ellen Caldwell says she has the knack for making every day brighter with her wiggles when we get home from work and her rabbit hops when she gets a new toy. Ellen says her beloved dash hound loves the attention and she would be delighted to see her crowned with the national title.
