Two local children have been made honorary Gardaí in an event that was the first of its kind.
The Cavan/Monaghan Garda Division hosted an outdoor Graduation Day with the Little Blue Heroes charity earlier this month at Monaghan Garda Station.
Graduations usually take place in Dublin however, due to Covid-19 they piloted this new format locally officially marking the occasion of Garda Jessica and Garda Leon becoming honorary members.
They were accompanied by their families and presented with bravery medals and certificates of confirmation.
Karl Heller is the Chair of Little Blue Heroes and says that it's about creating special memories for children who are seriously ill.
