Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Charlie McConalogue has announced funding for two local agri-food tourism projects.
The funding is made available under the 2023 Rural Innovation and Development Fund through the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
€25,000 has been announced for Monaghan Co Council for Summer of Food while €12,275 has been announced for Cavan County Council for the Cavan Food Network.
It's part of a national funding initiative of 300,000 that was announced by the Agriculture Minister for 17 projects.
Minister McConalogue said "The connection between agriculture and rural tourism is real and tangible given that we are such a great food nation with a strong track hospitality record.
He added that there is a great interest from across the country this year which highlights the interest in agri-food tourism and its importance to communities.
