Two members of the one family were hospitalised after a shooting incident in Cootehill at the weekend. Northern Sound understands,three generations of the family were on a hunting trip on lands near Cootehill on Sunday when a gun was discharged.
Two males, one in his 50s and a teenage boy were injured in the incident and both were taken to Cavan General Hospital for what Gardaí are describing as "non-life threatening injuries."
At 2:30pm on Sunday, 15th December Gardaí responded to the discharge of the firearm. Their "investigations are ongoing," a press statement reads. In Ireland, the hunting season runs from November 1st until the end of March.
