Two projects in Co Monaghan are set to receive €13,500 in funding under the Digital Innovation Programme.
The Department of Rural and Community Development scheme rewards projects that use new technologies to solve rural problems and deliver real benefits to communities.
The county will also receive €12,000 for a sensory garden project which will introduce technology to create a Big Tom App to accompany the recently opened Big Tom Memorial Garden.
The Big Tom App will detail the different phases of his life, and the information and audio segments will be delivered using QR codes.
€1,500 of funding will also go towards an Outdoor Inflatable Screens project in the county, with the outdoor screens being trialled as part of the Cavan-Monaghan Science Festival in October.
Rural and Community Development Minister, Heather Humphreys, said "the small scheme is about giving rural communities the opportunity to trial new technologies that will solve local problems".
