Two chicks have hatched at Mannok's kestrel nest in Cavan.
The local company installed a webcam in a hole in the wall of the quarry this Spring, which is used as a nesting site by the birds.
It's part of a project with Queen's University PhD student Kez Armstrong, who has been monitoring developments.
In an update over the weekend, Kez said two of the four eggs that were laid in the past month have now hatched.
The remaining chicks are expected to hatch in the coming days, this is said to be a characteristic of kestrel incubation to prevent competition between siblings and give them all a chance of survival.
