Two buildings in Castleblayney rank amongst An Taisce's 'Top 10 Most-at-Risk Buildings'.
Hope Castle and the Market House make the annual top ten list of structures of local importance that are vacant and are falling into a state of disrepair.
Both buildings date back to the 1800s - Hope Castle was badly damaged in an arson attack in 2010, while the roof of the Market House had to be removed last year in order to stabilise the structure.
Castleblayney Councillor Aidan Campbell told a recent Monaghan County Council meeting that these two historic buildings cannot be forgotten.
Both sites are owned by the Council, and Aidan Campbell told Shannonside Northern Sound that the council needs to work hard to find a solution for the buildings:
