Detectives from the Police Service’s Terrorism Investigation Unit have made two arrests and carried out searches in the Enniskillen area yesterday. The proactive operation was in relation to the discovery of an improvised explosive device in Co Louth on 9th June.
In a statement issued to Northern Sound, Detective Chief Inspector Hamlin said; "Working in conjunction with colleagues in An Garda Síochána we carried out searches at three properties in the Enniskillen area yesterday. Two men, both aged in their 40s, have been arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and remain in police custody at this time.
