The truth must be established when it comes to the Belturbet Bombing.
That's according to local TD, Deputy Brendan Smith, who says we need full co-operation by the Northern Irish authorities and the British authorities in the full and comprehensive investigations into the bloody atrocity. He said there is a moral, international, legal obligation to finally getting the truth almost 52 years on.
On the 28th December 1972 a series of three no warning bombs exploded in Belturbet, Clones and Pettigo. The car bomb which exploded on Main Street, Belturbet killed 16 year old Patrick Stanley and 15 year old Geraldine O’Reilly.
